LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

March 23, 2005

TO:
Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1418 by Gallegos (Relating to the termination or suspension of deputy constables in certain counties upon the election or appointment of a constable or the death of a constable.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would apply only to a county with a population of more than 3 million. Based on the 2000 federal census, the bill would apply only to Harris County.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the House/Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
