LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 4, 2005

TO:
Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1431 by Madla (Relating to the ability of a commissioners court to appoint a member to the board of an emergency services district.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would authorize a commissioners court to remove a member of the board of an emergency services district and fill that vacancy. Under current statute, the commissioners court is authorized only to appoint members and fill vacancies on the board of the emergency services district, but not to remove members.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
