LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 20, 2005

TO:
Honorable Jeff Wentworth, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1534 by Armbrister (Relating to the appointment of a bailiff for the 22nd District Court.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend Chapter 53 of the Government Code to remove authorization for the appointment of a bailiff in the 22nd district court, which is composed of Caldwell, Comal, and Hays counties.  Because counties pay costs of employing bailiffs, no fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

Local Government Impact

Because the bill would not have statewide impact on units of local government of the same type or class, no comment from this office is required by the rules of the Senate as to its probable fiscal implication on units of local government.
