FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1542 by Armbrister (Relating to certain permitting procedures of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would make changes to statutory provisions regarding contested case hearings for water quality, underground injection, and solid waste permits by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Although the bill could affect the number of cases going before the State Office of Administrative hearings (SOAH) and prodedures and workload of both the TCEQ and SOAH, neither agency expects a signficant change in workload as a result of the bill's passage.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
