No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Property Code to specify that district courts and county courts at law have concurrent jurisdiction in eminent domain cases in every county and to specify where a party initiating a condemnation proceeding must file the petition. The bill would take effect immediately if it receives the required two-thirds vote in each house; otherwise, it would take effect September 1, 2005.
