No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Alcoholic Beverage Code as it relates to the sale and service of beer by the holder of a winery permit.
The bill would allow the holder of a winery permit to sell and serve beer if the winery is in an area that is wet for beer and the beer is provided during the service of food to the customer. The sale or purchase of beer by a winery would be considered to be a purchase by a holder of a retail dealer’s on-premise license. The bill would also allow a winery permit holder to contract with the holder of a caterer’s permit for mixed beverages and food service at an event on winery premises.
The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.
