No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The provisions of the bill amends the Labor Code regarding the consolidation of workforce development programs by requiring staff who provide service only to veterans including those under Title 38 of the United State Code, which include Local Veterans Employment Representatives and Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Specialists to be state employees.

According the Texas Workforce Commission, there is no fiscal implication because these staff are currently state employees.

The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.


Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
