Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on S/C on Higher Education
FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB1809 by Wentworth (Relating to statewide evaluation of tech-prep consortia.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The committee substitute, by including a process and remedy for evaluation of consortia and a process for realignment, division, restructuring, or abolishment of consortia that fail to meet negotiated quality indicators, allows the State to remain in compliance with federal requirements and will not affect the Perkins funds received by the State. Because Tech Prep does not receive state funds there would be no fiscal impact on the Coordinating Board, the institutions of higher education, or the state as a whole.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
