LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

FISCAL NOTE, 79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

April 25, 2005

TO:
Honorable Kenneth Armbrister, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1854 by Lucio (Relating to the boundaries of and prohibited acts in the Nine-Mile Hole State Scientific Area; providing a penalty.), As Introduced

No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would establish Nine-Mile Hole as a State Scientific Area and would prohibit operation of airboats, jet-boats, or any propeller-driven vessels in the area except under certain conditions. Because TPWD indicates the bill would codify existing administrative rules regarding the boundaries and prohibited activities within the  Nine-Mile Hole area, it is assumed that the bill if adopted could be absorbed within existing resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
