IN RE:	HB2381 by Hegar (Relating to posting on the Internet the notice of a meeting of the governing body of a county and certain districts and political subdivisions.), Committee Report 2nd House, As Amended

The bill would amend the Open Meetings Act to prescribe rules relating to notice of meetings by governmental bodies posted on the Internet.  The bill provides that if a governmental body is required or permitted to post Internet notice, that the requirement is satisfied by a good faith attempt to post the notice on the Internet for the prescribed period.  The bill expressly states that the duty to physically post notice as described by the Open Meetings Act is still required.  Because the bill would only potentially increase the public's access to governmental information, no impact to open government laws is anticipated.
