IN RE:
SB452 by Wentworth (Relating to transferring the duties of the Texas Building and Procurement Commission under the public information law to the attorney general.), As Introduced

As a result of this bill there will be no significant restriction upon:

(1) the open records law;
(2) the open meetings law;
(3) the access to government information; or
(4) the ability of the citizens of Texas to transact public business.

The bill would amend the Government Code to transfer certain rulemaking and administrative duties and responsibilities relating to the Public Information Act from the Texas Building and Procurement Commission to the Office of the Attorney General.  The bill would take effect September 1, 2005.  No significant restriction upon open government laws is anticipated as a result of the bill.
