IN RE:	SB727 by Wentworth (Relating to the public information law.), As Introduced

The bill would amend the Government Code to make numerous changes to the Public Information Act.  The bill would consider a disclosure request withdrawn if the requestor does not respond in writing within thirty days of receiving written notice that the initial request would require programming or manipulation of data.  The bill would also require parties submitting comments, briefs, or letters to the attorney general regarding an open records opinion to copy the other parties involved in the disclosure dispute.  No significant restriction of open government laws is anticipated as a result of the bill.
