LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas

ACTUARIAL IMPACT STATEMENT

79TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION

May 16, 2005

TO:
Honorable Craig Eiland, Chair, House Committee on Pensions & Investments

FROM:
John S. O'Brien, Deputy Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
SB1513 by Averitt (Relating to an interim study regarding the operation of certain state health insurance programs.), As Engrossed

SB 1513 as engrossed creates a joint interim committee on state health insurance programs and health benefit programs to analyze the feasibility of establishing a separate state agency to administer the health benefit programs currently administered by the Employees Retirement System, the Teacher Retirement System, the University of Texas System, and the Texas A&M University System.

The bill, if enacted, would not have an actuarial effect as it does not propose to change the funding or obligations of any public retirement system.
