The House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock 79th Legislature April 25, 2006 1:00 p.m. or upon final adjourn./recess Capitol Extension, E2.028 Pursuant to a notice posted on April 12, 2006, the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Hardcastle, at 1:11 p.m. The roll was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Hardcastle; Brown, Betty; Herrero; Olivo (4). Absent: Representatives Anderson; Burnam; Farrar (3). A quorum was present. Interim Charge #1 The Committee considered testimony relating to the following charge: Explore the need for both the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) program and the Program for Assessment of Veterinary Medical Education (PAVE) for certification of students who graduate from foreign veterinary colleges. Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.) (Representative Anderson now present.) (Representative Burnam now present.) Interim Charge #2 The Committee considered testimony relating to the following charge: Assess the need for new rules and regulations to govern non-veterinary practitioners of animal care, specifically equine dentistry, as well as the potential need for veterinary supervision of certain practices. Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.) Interim Charge #5 The Committee considered testimony relating to the following charge: Monitor the agencies and programs under the committee's jurisdiction. Testimony was taken.
