Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20,
2005, the House Committee on Appropriations met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Pitts, at 11:59 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Fred; Chisum; Crownover; Davis, John; Edwards;
Gattis; Guillen; Haggerty; Hegar; Hope; Hopson; King,
Tracy; Kolkhorst; Martinez; Menendez; Pena; Smith,
Todd; Turner (21).
Absent: Representatives Luna; Branch; Dukes; Hamric; Isett;
McClendon; Pickett; Truitt (8).
A quorum was present.
SB 1605
The chair laid out SB 1605 and recognized Representative Chisum
to explain the measure.
The chair offered a complete committee substitute for Senate
Bill 1605 and recognized Representative Chisum to explain the
substitute.

Representative Chisum moved that the committee substitute for
Senate Bill 1605 be adopted. The committee substitute was
adopted without objection.
Representative Pitts moved that SB 1605, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:

At 12:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
