         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 15, 2005, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Education met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Kolkhorst, at 1:20 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Kolkhorst; Branch; Crownover; Smith,  
                    Todd (4). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Guillen; McClendon (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representative Guillen now present.) 
          
         At 2:47 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 3:15 p.m., February 16, 2005. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 3:37 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Kolkhorst. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Kolkhorst; Crownover; Guillen;  
                    McClendon (4). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Branch; Smith, Todd (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         At 5:11 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until 8:00 a.m., February 17, 2005.
