Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on January 26,
2005, the House Committee on Election Contests, Select, met in a
formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,
Representative Keel, at 1:25 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Keel; Eiland; Denny; Giddings;
Guillen; Hupp; King, Phil; Phillips; Ritter (9).
Absent: None (0).
A quorum was present.
The Chair laid out the recommendation of the Master of Discovery
pertaining to Contestant Jack Stick. The recommendation of the
Master is to assess the Contestant $1,500 in costs and to refund
the remaining amount of the cost bond to the Contestant.
Representative Eiland moved that the recommendation of the
Master be adopted. The motion prevailed by the following record
vote:
Ayes: Representatives Keel; Eiland; Denny; Giddings;
Guillen; Hupp; King, Phil; Phillips; Ritter (9).
Nays: None (0).
Present,Not Voting: None (0).
Representative Denny moved that the Committee recommendation be
forwarded to the full House for its consideration. The motion
prevailed by the following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Keel; Eiland; Denny; Giddings;
Guillen; Hupp; King, Phil; Phillips; Ritter (9).
Nays: None (0).

in costs and to refund the remaining amount of the cost bond to

Representative Denny moved that the Committee recommendation be
