Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on March 10,
2005, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting
and was called to order by the chair, Representative Denny, at
11:37 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Denny; Bohac; Smith, Todd; Anchia;
Anderson; Hughes (6).
Absent: Representative Jones, Jesse (1).
A quorum was present.
The chair referred HB 1268, HB 1269, HB 1293, HB 1382, HB 1402,
and HB 1706 directly to the subcommittee on Voter Verification.
The chair named the following members to the subcommittee on
Campaign Finance: Representative Hughes, Chair; Representatives
Anchia and Anderson.
The chair referred HB 72, HB 73, HB 113, HB 476, HB 906, HB
1104, HB 1348, HB 1647, HB 1664, and HB 1708 directly to the
subcommittee on Campaign Finance.
HB 762
The chair laid out HB 762 as pending business.
Representative Denny offered a complete committee substitute.
The chair recognized Representative Nixon to explain the
measure.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Bohac moved that HB 762, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Denny; Bohac; Smith, Todd;
Anchia; Anderson; Hughes (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Jones, Jesse (1).
HB 1163
The chair laid out HB 1163 as pending business.
Representative Hughes moved that HB 1163, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Denny; Bohac; Smith, Todd;
Anchia; Anderson; Hughes (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).

HB 964
The chair laid out HB 964 as pending business.
Representative Smith, Todd moved that HB 964, without
amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the
Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed
