Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor, and permission
to meet while the House was in session, on May 11, 2005, the
House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting and was
called to order by the chair, Representative Denny, at 6:47 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Denny; Bohac; Smith, Todd; Hughes;
Jones, Jesse (5).
Absent: Representatives Anchia; Anderson (2).
A quorum was present.
SB 427
The chair laid out SB 427.
Representative Denny offered a complete committee substitute.
(Representative Anderson now present.)
Representative Denny explained the measure.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Bohac moved that SB 427, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Denny; Bohac; Smith, Todd;
Anderson; Hughes; Jones, Jesse (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Anchia (1).
SB 1052
The chair laid out and explained SB 1052.
Representative Hughes moved that SB 1052, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Denny; Bohac; Smith, Todd;
Anderson; Hughes; Jones, Jesse (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Anchia (1).
At 6:54 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
