The House Committee on General Investigating & Ethics

         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 11, 2005, the House  
         Committee on General Investigating & Ethics met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Bailey, at 8:18 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Bailey; Flynn; Keel (3). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Paxton; Dutton (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representative Paxton now present.) 
          
         Chairman Bailey called on Jason Cooke and apologized for late  
         notice to appear before Committee and explained the need for  
         additional questions to be answered.  
          
         Chair then called on State Auditors office to provide  
         information concerning their report number 05-028 and to answer  
         questions.  
          
         Chair then called on Commissioner Albert Hawkins to explain what  
         steps the Health and Human Services Commission is taking to  
         implement recommendations made by the State Auditors office.

         Commissioner Hawkins introduced Robert Hall to give and in depth  
         review of HHSC plans. 
         Commissioner Hawkins then introduced other members of HHSC who  
         are working on contract issues and implementation of  
         recommendations. 
          
         At 9:28 a.m., on the motion of Representative Keel and without  
         objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the  
         chair.
