Pursuant to a notice posted on April 20, 2005, the House
Committee on Government Reform met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the chair, Representative Uresti, at 5:07
p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Uresti; Otto; Frost; Hunter; Veasey
(5).
Absent: Representatives Davis, Yvonne; Gonzales (2).
A quorum was present.
HB 2442
The chair laid out HB 2442 as pending business.
Representative Frost offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Hunter moved that HB 2442, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Uresti; Otto; Frost; Hunter;
Veasey (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Davis, Yvonne; Gonzales (2).

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 2593 was
reported favorably. The motion to reconsider prevailed without
objection.
The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which The committee
substitute for HB 2593 was adopted. The motion to reconsider
prevailed without objection.
The committee substitute was withdrawn without objection.
Representative Uresti offered a complete committee substitute.
Representative Otto moved that HB 2593, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the

measure.

reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the

Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Gonzales (1).
At 5:17 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
