         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18,  
         2005, the House Committee on Government Reform met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Uresti, at 5:42 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Uresti; Davis, Yvonne; Frost;  
                    Gonzales; Hunter; Veasey (6). 
          
         Absent:    Representative Otto (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1533 
          
         The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was  
         reported from committee. The motion to reconsider prevailed  
         without objection.  
          
         SB 1533 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1533 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Uresti moved that SB 1533, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Uresti; Davis, Yvonne; Frost;  
                         Gonzales; Hunter; Veasey (6). 
          
         Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).
