Reagan Building, 120 Pursuant to a notice posted on June 22, 2005, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Morrison, at 9:17 a.m. The roll was answered as follows: Present: Representatives Morrison; Brown, Fred; Dawson; Gallego; Giddings; Harper-Brown; Jones, Jesse (7). Absent: Representatives Goolsby; Rose (2). A quorum was present. (Representative Brown, Fred in chair.) HB6 The chair laid out HB6. The chair recognized Representative Morrison to explain the measure. Representative Morrison offered an amendment to the measure. The amendment was adopted without objection. The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendments into a committee substitute. Representative Rose moved that HB6, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.
