Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20,
2005, and Permission to meet while the House was in session the
House Committee on Judiciary met in a formal meeting and was
called to order by the acting chair, Representative Hughes at
10:30 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Hughes; Hopson; Gonzales; Solis;
Straus (5).
Absent: Representatives Hartnett; Alonzo; Keel; Van Arsdale
(4).
A quorum was present.
SB 301
The chair laid out SB 301 as pending business.
Representative Gonzales moved that SB 301, without amendments,
be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hughes; Hopson; Gonzales; Solis;
Straus (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Hartnett; Alonzo; Keel; Van
Arsdale (4).
SB 1410
The chair laid out SB 1410 as pending business.
Representative Solis moved that SB 1410, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Hughes; Hopson; Gonzales; Solis;
Straus; Van Arsdale (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Hartnett; Alonzo; Keel (3).
At 10:30 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
