         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 10, 2005, the House  
         Committee on Public Education Reform, Select met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Grusendorf, at 3:15 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Grusendorf; Eissler; Branch; Delisi  
                    (4). 
          
         Absent:    Representative Keffer, Bill (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 8 
          
         The chair laid out SB 8. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         The bill was left pending without objection.  
          
         At 8:18 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 11:00 a.m., August 12, 2005. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 11:30 a.m., August 12, 2005, and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Grusendorf. The  
         roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Grusendorf; Eissler; Branch; Delisi  
                    (4). 
          
         Absent:    Representative Keffer, Bill (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 8 
          
         The chair laid out SB 8. 
          
         Representative Grusendorf offered a complete committee  
 
         substitute.  
           
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         The committee substitute was withdrawn without objection. 
          
         The bill was left pending without objection.  
          
         At 11:45 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
