         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor and a  
         suspension of House Rules to allow the committee to meet while  
         the House was in session, on May 11, 2005, the House Committee  
         on Local Government Ways & Means met in a formal meeting and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Hill, at 9:19 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Hill; Elkins; Laubenberg; Puente;  
                    Uresti (5). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Hamilton; Quintanilla (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 447 
          
         The chair laid out SB 447. 
          
         Representative Uresti moved that SB 447, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Hill; Elkins; Laubenberg; Uresti  
                         (4). 
          
         Nays:           Representative Puente (1). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0). 
          
         Absent:         Representatives Hamilton; Quintanilla  (2). 
          
         At 9:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
