         Upon first adjournment/recess 
         House Chamber, Desk No. 59 
          
         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 7,  
         2005, the House Committee on Law Enforcement met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Driver, at 11:16 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Driver; Jackson, Jim; Hegar; Burnam;  
                    Frost; Hupp; Veasey (7). 
          
         Absent:    None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 217 
          
         The chair laid out SB 217. 
          
         Representative Driver offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Jackson, Jim moved that SB 217, as substituted,  
         be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Driver; Jackson, Jim; Hegar;  
                         Burnam; Frost; Hupp; Veasey (7). 
          
         Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0). 
          
         Absent:         None  (0). 
          
         The chair directed that the March 7, 2005 minutes for the House  
         Committee on Law Enforcement be corrected. The corrected minutes  
         were authorized without objection.  
          
         At 11:18 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
