         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 22,  
         2005, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation, & Tourism met  
         in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Hilderbran, at 11:31 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Hilderbran; Kuempel; Baxter; Dunnam;  
                    Phillips (5). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Dukes; Gallego (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 2901 
          
         The chair laid out HB 2901 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Hilderbran offered a complete committee  
         substitute and explained the measure.  
          
         Representative Kuempel moved that HB 2901, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:           Representatives Hilderbran; Kuempel; Baxter;  
                         Dunnam; Phillips (5). 
          
         Nays:           None (0). 
          
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0). 
          
         Absent:         Representatives Dukes; Gallego  (2). 
          
         HB 3144 
          
         The chair laid out HB 3144 as pending business.  
          
         Representative Hilderbran offered a complete committee  
         substitute and explained the measure.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
         Representative Phillips moved that HB 3144, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on  
         Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the  
 
         following record vote:
