         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 20, 2006, the House  
         Committee on State Affairs met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Swinford, at 2:18  
         p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
         Present:   Representatives Swinford; Miller; Gattis; Cook,  
                    Byron; Keffer, Jim; Wong (6). 
         Absent:    Representatives Farrar; Martinez Fischer; Villarreal  
                    (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 20, 2006, the House  
         Committee on Business & Industry met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Giddings, at 2:18  
         p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
         Present: Representatives Giddings; Elkins; Solomons; Vo; Zedler  
         (5). 
         Absent: Representatives Martinez; Bailey; Bohac; Taylor (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Chair Giddings and Chair Swinford give opening remarks. 
          
         Invited testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 5:28 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
