         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 17, 2006, the House  
         Committee on Ways & Means met in a public hearing and was called  
         to order by the acting chair, Representative Villarreal at 1:15  
         p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:   Representatives Villarreal; Grusendorf; Luna; Ritter;  
                    Smithee; Woolley (6). 
          
         Absent:    Representatives Keffer, Jim; Edwards; Paxton (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Committee heard invited testimony from the Office of the  
         Attorney General, the Comptroller of Public Accounts, and the  
         Legislative Budget Board.

         At 2:50 p.m., on the motion of Representative Villarreal and  
         without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call
