         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Monday, April 4, 2005, in the Capitol  
         Extension, Room E1.714, at Austin, Texas.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 4:04 p.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         The chair went through the list of bills recommended for  
         placement on the Local and Uncontested Calendar and removed  
         Senate Bills 40, 87, 221, 671, and 673. Senator Harris then  
         moved that, with the exception of the above bills, the bills in  
         the recommended list be placed on the Local and Uncontested  
         Calendar. The motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0  
         nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.   
          
         There being no further business, at 4:10 p.m. Senator Harris  
         moved that the committee stand recessed; without objection, it  
         was so ordered.
