         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Administration was held on Monday, April 11, 2005, in the  
         Capitol Extension, Room E1.714, at Austin, Texas.

         Senator Juan Hinojosa, the acting chair, called the meeting to  
         order at 4:15 p.m. The following business was transacted:   
          
         The chair certified the Local and Uncontested Calendar  
         recommended list with the exception of SB 159, SB 179, SB 253,  
         SB 465, SB 480, SB 690, SB 867, and SB 1567.  Without objection,  
         it was so ordered. 
          
         At 4:23 p.m. Senator Van de Putte assumed the chair.   
          
         The chair laid out SCR 9 and recognized Senator Hinojosa, in the  
         absence of the author, to explain the bill. The chair opened the  
         meeting to testimony on SCR 9. There being no testimony, the  
         chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without  
         objection, it was so ordered.   Senator Hinojosa moved that SCR  
         9 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed.  The motion carried with a  
         record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 3  
         absent.  Senator Hinojosa moved that the bill be recommended for  
         placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without  
         objection, it was so ordered.   
          
         At 4:28 p.m. Senator Hinojosa moved that the committee stand  
         recessed; without objection, it was so ordered.
