Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of
the Senate Committee on Administration was held on Monday, May
16, 2005, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.714, at Austin,
Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m. There being
a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
At 2:02 p.m. Senator Hinojosa assumed the chair.
The chair laid out HB 2017 and recognized the Senate sponsor,
Senator Harris, to explain the bill. Witnesses testifying and
registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. The
chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without
objection, it was so ordered. Senator Janek moved that HB 2017
be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that
it do pass and not be printed. The motion carried with a record
vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent.
Senator Harris moved that the bill be recommended for placement
on the Local & Uncontested Calendar; without objection, it was
so ordered.
The chair laid out HB 2018 and recognized Senator Harris, in the
absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill. Witnesses

recommendation that it do pass and not be printed. The motion

be held on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at 8:00 a.m.; without
objection, it was so ordered.

absence of the Senate sponsor, to explain the bill. Senator
Harris moved that HB 2900 be reported favorably to the Senate
with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The
motion carried with a record vote of 5 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present
not voting, and 2 absent. Senator Harris moved that the bill be
recommended for placement on the Local & Uncontested Calendar;
without objection, it was so ordered.
At 2:15 p.m. Senator Harris resumed the chair.
At 2:15 p.m. Senator Harris moved that the committee stand
recessed; without objection, it was so ordered.
