         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Standing Senate Subcommittee on  
         Emerging Technologies & Economic Development was held on Monday,  
         February 21, 2005, in E1.028.

         Chairman Carona called the organizational meeting of the  
         Emerging Technologies & Economic Development Subcommittee to  
         order at 3:05 p.m.  There being a quorum present, the following  
         business was transacted: 
          
         The Chairman welcomed the Committee members and announced that  
         the Committee's regular meeting schedule will be Mondays  
         starting at 3:00 p.m. or upon adjournment, whichever is later,    
         in E1.028.   
          
         Chairman Carona laid out the Committee Rules which were  
         previously provided to the members for their review.  There  
         being no questions or comments on the rules, Senator Brimer  
         moved adoption of the Committee Rules.  Without objection it was  
         so ordered.   
          
         There being no further business, at 3:08 p.m. Chairman Carona  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of  
         the Chairman.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
