MINUTES STANDING SENATE SUBCOMMITTEE ON EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT Tuesday, May 3, 2005 3:00 p.m. or upon adjournment Senate Chamber ***** Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Standing Senate Subcommittee on Emerging Technologies & Economic Development was held on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at Chairman Carona's Desk in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas. ***** MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Chairman John Carona Senator Kip Averitt Senator Kim Brimer Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. Senator Craig Estes ***** The Chairman called the meeting to order. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: The Chairman laid out HB 1734, pending in committee. Senator Brimer sent up Committee Amendment 2 and moved adoption; without objection, the amendment was adopted. Senator Brimer requested unanimous consent to incorporate amendments into the committee substitute; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Brimer then moved that the new committee substitute be adopted; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Brimer moved that HB 1734 do not pass but that CSHB 1734 be reported favorable to the full Committee on Business and Commerce with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 3 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 2 absent. There being no further business, Chairman Carona moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the Chair.
