The chair called the meeting to order at 10:06 a.m. The following business was transacted:
Senator Shapiro made opening remarks to the Committee.
Leroy Hermes, Chairman for the University of Houston System Board of Regents, welcomed the Committee to the University of Houston campus.
The Committee heard testimony from invited witnesses on Interim Charge 6: Evaluate the impact of successful school choice programs on students, parents, and teachers.
At 11:45 a.m. Senator West assumed the chair.
At 11:48 a.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair.
Witnesses testifying and registering on Interim Charge 6 are shown on the attached list.
At 2:55 p.m. Senator Janek assumed the chair.
At 3:09 p.m. Senator Shapiro resumed the chair.
The chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 4:25 p.m. Senator Shapiro moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
