Witnesses registering and testifying on the bill are shown on the attached list. At 9:10 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed for 5 minutes; without objection, it was so ordered. The Committee reconvened at 9:17 a.m. Senator Ogden laid out the recommendations and related riders for Article IX, General Provisions. Senator Ogden moved to adopt the recommendations and riders for Article IX. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden moved to adopt a rider regarding a new schedule of exempt positions for certain elected officials. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Staples moved to adopt a rider regarding reporting requirements for federal homeland security funds. Without objection, it was so ordered. At 9:53 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed for 5 minutes; without objection, it was so ordered. The Committee reconvened at 9:55 a.m. Senator Ogden moved to adopt a rider regarding technical adjustments for Adult Protective Services, South Padre Island Nature Center, and Substance Abuse Pilot Project. There was an objection. There was a roll call vote. The motion carried with a record vote of 9 ayes, 2 nays, 1 present not voting, and 3 absent. Senator Duncan moved to adopt a rider regarding the State Data Center System. Without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden moved to adopt directives to LBB staff; without objection, it was so ordered. Senator Ogden moved that SB 1 be left pending; without objection, it was so ordered. There being no further business, at 10:10 a.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.
