Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Finance was held on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.  The following business was transacted:

 

The roll was called.

 

Senator Ogden welcomed the members and made introductory remarks regarding the upcoming budget hearing schedule and intentions.  Senator Ogden then recognized Committee Members to make introductory remarks.

 

The Committee heard invited testimony on Article VIII agencies.  Witnesses testifying and registering on the agencies are shown on the attached list. 

 

At 12:20 p.m., Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 1:00 p.m.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

At 1:00 p.m. Senator Ogden reconvened the Committee.

 

Testimony on Article VIII agencies continued.

 

The chair moved that the testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered. 

 

There being no further business, at 3:19 p.m. Senator Ogden moved that the Committee stand recessed until 9:00 a.m. the following day, Thursday, September 14, 2006.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
