The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent. Senator Carona then moved that SB 544 be reported favorably to the Senate with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed. The motion carried with a record vote of 4 ayes, 0 nay, 0 present not voting, and 3 absent. The Chair then moved to hear invited testimony concerning community supervision reforms. The Chair called panel 1: Ms. Belinda Hill, 230th District Court Judge Ms. Mary Anne Bramblett, State District Judge, El Paso, Texas Ms. Caprice Cosper, 339th District Court Judge Mr. Mark Atkinson, Judge, Harris County Ms. Debbie Stricklin, 180th District Court Judge The Chair then called panel 2: Mr. John A Wilmoth, Director, Concho Valley Community Supervision Ms. Geraldine Nagy, Directory, Travis County Community Supervision and Corrections Mr. Paul Donnelly, Director, Harris County Community Supervision and Corrections Ms. Caroline Rickaway, Director, Brazoria County Community Supervision and Corrections Mr. Javed Syed, Director, Nueces County Community Supervision Mr. Tom Plumlee, Director, Tarrant County Community Servision Department Mr. Dana Hendrick, Director, San Patricio County Community Supervision The Chair then heard public testimony concerning community supervision reform and probation. There being no further business, at 5:00 p.m. Senator Whitmire moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.
