A quorum was established at 9:06 a.m. The Chair laid out Senate Bill 6 and recognized the author, Senator Nelson, to explain the bill and the proposed committee substitute. Senator Nelson explained the bill. Senator Carona sent up Committee Amendment #1. The Chair recognized Senator Shapleigh to explain the amendment. Senator Shapleigh explained the amendment. Senator Deuell sent up an amendment to Committee Amendment #1. Senator Shapleigh explained the amendment. Senator Nelson moved that the minutes from the previous hearing be adopted; without objection, it was so ordered. The Chair opened the floor to invited testimony on the Adult Protective Services portion of SB 6. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. At 9:44 a.m., the Chair announced that the Committee would stand in recess until 30 minutes upon adjournment of the Senate. At 11:27 p.m., the Committee reconvened. At 11:28 p.m., Senator Armbrister assumed the chair. Invited testimony resumed. The Chair opened the floor to public testimony on the Adult Protective Services portion of SB 6. Witnesses testifying and registering on the bill are shown on the attached list. At 12:06 p.m., Senator Lindsay assumed the chair. At 12:11 p.m., Senator Janek assumed the chair. At 2:20 p.m., Senator Deuell assumed the chair. The Chair closed public testimony. The Chair announced that Senate Bill 6 would be left pending. At 2:37 p.m., Senator Nelson resumed the chair. The Chair recognized Senator Zaffirini for an announcement.
