Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, September 19, 2006, in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:06 p.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The Chair welcomed Committee members and gave opening remarks.  The Chair laid out charge # 2 regarding Medicaid reform and opened the floor to invited testimony.

 

Invited witnesses provided testimony and answered questions.

Invited witnesses testifying on charge # 2 shown on the attached list.

 

The Chair moved that invited testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.  The Chair opened the floor for public testimony on charge # 2. 

 

Public witnesses testified and answered questions on charge # 2. 

Public witnesses testifying and registering on charge # 2 are shown on the attached list.

 

The Chair moved to close testimony on charge # 2; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

At 1:20 PM the Chair moved that the Committee stand in recess until 1:40 PM; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

The Chair reconvened the committee at 1:40 PM and laid out charge # 6 regarding Vaccination Rates and Vaccine Supply. The Chair opened the floor to invited testimony.

 

The invited witnesses provided testimony and answered questions.

The Chair moved that the invited testimony on charge # 6 be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.  The Chair opened the floor for public testimony on charge # 6.

The Chair moved that pubic testimony be closed; without objection it was so ordered.

 

The Chair laid out charge # 5 relating to Skin Cell Research and Emerging Technologies and opened the floor to invited testimony.

The Chair moved that invited testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.  The Chair opened the floor for public testimony on charge #5.
