Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, November 14, 2006, in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:05 a.m. The following business was transacted:
Chairman Jane Nelson welcomed committee members and gave opening remarks. Chairman Nelson laid out interim charge #9 relating to the study of the use of the Texas 2-1-1 network.
Chairman Nelson opened the floor for invited testimony on interim charge #9. Invited witnesses provided testimony and answered questions; their names are shown on the attached list.
Chairman Nelson moved that invited testimony on interim charge #9 be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
