         Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule  
         11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on  
         Transportation and Homeland Security was held on Tuesday, April  
         25, 2006, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.016, at Austin,  
         Texas.

         The chair called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.  There being  
         a quorum present, the following business was transacted:   
          
         Senator Brimer moved adoption of the minutes from the previous  
         hearing held on April 18, 2006; without objection, it was so  
         ordered. 
          
         Chairman Carona laid out the Committee's Homeland Security  
         related interim charges numbers 2, 3 and 7. 
          
         Invited as well as public testimony on these charges followed. 
          
         There being no further business, at 9:56 a.m. Senator Wentworth  
         moved that the Committee stand recessed to the call of the  
         chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
