Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.18, a public hearing of the Subcommittee on Base Realignment & Closure was held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, in El Paso, Texas

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:11 a.m.  The following business was transacted: 

 

The Senate Committee on Veteran Affairs and Military Installations met jointly with the Subcommittee on Base Realignment and Closure.  At 9:12 a.m. Senator Shapleigh called the subcommittee to order.  At 9:12 a.m. Senators Shapleigh and Van de Putte shared presiding duties. 

 

Persons who provided invited testimony are listed on the attached witness list. 

 

At 11:27 a.m. Senator Shapleigh moved that the committees stand recessed until 11:37 a.m; without objection, it was so ordered.  At 11:40 a.m. the committees reconvened. 

 

There being no further business, at 1:27 p.m., Senator Van de Putte moved that the committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.  At 1:28 p.m., Senator Shapleigh moved that the Subcommittee on Base Realignment and Closure stand recessed subject to the call of the chair.  Without objection, it was so ordered.
