	Amend CSHB 9 (committee printing) by striking page 9, lines 3 
through 6, and substituting the following:
	Sec. 169.011.  APPLICABILITY; CONSTRUCTION.  (a)  This 
chapter does not preempt or supersede a local ordinance, rule, or 
regulation adopted by any political subdivision that regulates, 
restricts, or prohibits smoking.  The local ordinance, rule, or 
regulation supersedes this chapter within the boundaries of the 
political subdivision that adopts it.
