Amend CSHB 958 (house committee printing) as follows:
(1) On page 4, line 1, between "Code" and the period, insert
", including an educational program provided by the Texas Youth
Commission to children who are committed to the commission".
(2) Add the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the
bill:
SECTION ____. Subchapter B, Chapter 62, Code of Criminal
Procedure, is amended by adding Article 62.065 to read as follows:
Art. 62.065. PROHIBITED LOCATION. (a) Notwithstanding
Article 62.064 and except as provided by Subsection (b), a person
who is required to register under this chapter may not work or
reside within or go in, on, or within 1,000 feet of a premises used
to provide an educational program to children who are committed to
the Texas Youth Commission.
(b) This article does not apply to a person who seeks to enter
the premises during the standard operating hours of the educational
program and who is the parent, conservator, or legal guardian of a
child committed to the commission. The person shall notify
appropriate administrative authorities of the person's presence on
the premises as required by Article 62.064.
(3) Renumber existing SECTIONS accordingly.
