Amend HB 1279 (Senate committee printing) as follows:                        
	(1)  In SECTION 1 of the bill (page 1, line 20), between 
"installed" and "at", by inserting "and operating".
	(2)  Between SECTION 1 and SECTION 2 of the bill (page 1, 
between lines 26 and 27), by inserting the following appropriately 
numbered SECTION and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS accordingly:
	SECTION __.  Section 544.0075, Transportation Code, as added 
by this Act, applies only to a detector that is installed, replaced, 
calibrated, or recalibrated in connection with a traffic-actuated 
electric traffic-control signal on or after the effective date of 
this Act.
