Amend HB 2244 (house committee printing) on page 1, between 
lines 20 and 21, by inserting the following:
	(c) This section does not limit the authority of the 
Commission on Jail Standards under Section 511.009(c), Government 
Code, to grant a temporary or permanent variance to the 
requirements of this section if the county demonstrates a 
justifiable need for the variance.
