Amend CSSB 218 (Senate committee printing) as follows:                       
	(1)  In SECTION 1 of the bill, in Subdivision (7), Subsection 
(b), Section 42.041, Human Resources Code, between "Education 
Agency" and "or the Southern Association", by inserting ", the 
Texas Private School Accreditation Commission," (Senate committee 
printing, page 1, line 33).
	(2)  In SECTION 2 of the bill in added Subsection (b-1), 
Section 42.044, Human Resources Code (committee printing, page 2, 
lines 32-36), strike Subdivision (2) and substitute the following:
		(2)  an after-school program operated by an entity 
under contract with an educational facility accredited by the Texas 
Education Agency, the Texas Private School Accreditation 
Commission, or the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, if 
that agency, commission, or association has approved the curriculum 
content of the after-school program.
	(3)  Insert new SECTION 4 of the bill (committee printing, 
page 2, between lines 43 and 44) to read as follows:
	SECTION 4.  Section 42.054, Human Resources Code, is amended 
by adding Subsection (h) to read as follows:
	(h)  Notwithstanding  any other provision of this section, 
the department may not charge the initial license fee or the annual 
license fee for a licensed child-care facility that exclusively 
offers an after-school program operated by another entity under 
contract with the educational facility, if the Texas Education 
Agency, the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission, or the 
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools has approved the 
curriculum content of the after-school program operated under the 
contract.
	(4)  In SECTION 4 of the bill (committee printing, page 2, 
line 44), strike "SECTION 4" and substitute "SECTION 5".
