Amend CSSB 228 by adding the following appropriately numbered 
sections and renumbering the sections of the bill accordingly:
	SECTION ____.  Section 154.131, Family Code, is amended by 
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
	(f)  Notwithstanding any other provision of this subtitle, 
the court retains jurisdiction to render an order for retroactive 
child support in a suit other than a Title IV-D case if a petition 
requesting retroactive child support is filed not later than the 
fourth anniversary of the date of the child's 18th birthday.
	SECTION ____.  The change in law made by this Act by the 
enactment of Section 154.131(f), Family Code, applies only to a 
petition in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship pending 
in a trial court on or filed on or after the effective date of this 
Act.
